Community shred event helps residents securely shred personal documents
The Rogue family of companies extends beyond your curbside trash and recycling pick up to include Rogue Compost, Rogue Clean Fuels (CNG), and confidential document destruction via Rogue Shred. Recently, staff and trucks from Rogue Shred were on hand at this spring’s Drug Take Back & Rogue Shred Event hosted by the Medford Police Department.
On Saturday, April 24, 632 vehicles passed through the event site in the Medford City Hall parking lot, with 372 of those vehicles dropping off bags of personal documents for shredding at no cost. Steve Asher and Dave Warden from Rogue Shred were there to accept the materials for document destruction and operate the Rogue Shred trucks. Events like this are a great way for area residents to have documents securely shredded as a way to reduce the potential of identity theft.
Along with papers for shredding, this yearly event also provides a safe, convenient and responsible way for folks to dispose of their unwanted, unused or outdated prescription medications for free. Improper disposal of unused medications can negatively impact area water quality. In addition, the event serves as an educational tool to help the general public better understand the potential for abuse of some of these medications.
A big thanks to everyone involved!
