Cart Pickup Schedule

Yard debris is collected every-other week on the same day your garbage is collected. If you also have commingled recycling (red lid roll cart), your yard debris will be picked up on alternating weeks. There is a small fee for yard debris service and a commitment of one calendar year is required.

Yard Debris Basics

Because a robotic arm is used to empty your card, there are a few key things to keep in mind to ensure collection.

Graphic service res trash guide spacing
  1. DO NOT bag your yard debris.
  2. Make sure the cart is level-full. Everything must fit completely inside the cart and the lid must be closed.
  3. Have your cart out by 6:30 am on your scheduled pickup day. Place the roll cart with the wheels flush against the sidewalk or shoulder — or up on the sidewalk if you have a bike lane — with the white arrows pointing toward the street.
  4. Make sure everything inside the roll cart is able to fall freely when emptied.
  5. Keep the cart 3’ from other carts and clear from obstructions — including 10’ away from trees, basketball hoops and power lines. Carts should be spaced at least 5’ away from cars.

Can I recycle my Christmas tree?

Yes! If you already use our yard debris recycling service, just cut up the tree and put it in your roll cart to be composted. Please note we cannot take any trees that are flocked and all decorations and tinsel must be removed.

If you’d like our drivers to pick up your tree, you need to call our office to schedule the pickup and authorize the charge. To schedule a pickup, call 541.779.4161.

You can also drop off your Christmas tree at the Transfer Station. Just make sure there’s no flocking, no ornaments and no tinsel. As this is considered yard debris, the drop-off cost is $11.40.

And remember, the Boy Scouts and other community groups also offer tree collection and disposal.

In the fall, is it OK to fill my entire roll cart with leaves?

Absolutely! The thing to remember, though, is that they need to be loose. No bagged leaves — or bags of any kind — in your green-lid yard debris roll cart.
